Two Young Men "Brave the Shave" for Kid's Wigs, Wings of Hope, and BBYO
| I was honoured to be a part of an event this weekend and lend my hands and a set of clippers to help two fourteen-year-old boys make a real impact. It’s so wonderful to witness kids at that age that are naturally inclined to give—a trait that I’m sure will now endure for the rest of their lives! | ![]() |

Both of these boys have been growing their curly locks for what I’m sure seems like ages for their mothers. Not only did they donate their hair to make wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy, but also raised money by shaving their heads as a finale. The boys decided together where the funds raised from family and friends would be ultimately destined:
|
- Wings of Hope Foundation:a Calgary-based foundation that provides financial support for women and men living with breast cancer.
- B’nai Brith Youth Organization: a Jewish youth group both boys actively participate in together.
| How very touching that together, two young boys decided to donate a portion of the funds raised to a breast cancer foundation. I would have predicted their donations going to Kids Cancer, or the like, but what a touching surprise to see the funds destined for Wings of Hope. It just goes to show, people of all ages are touched by many deserving causes and for a multitude of reasons. | ![]() |

The event was fantastic! A room PACKED with supportive friends and family gave their curls a final goodbye, and watched a transformation from a head of ponytails, to matching mohawks, to the ultimate buzz. All the while, the list of generous donations grew...with the total amount raised tallied at $5,000 and rising. |
