PRESS RELEASE: MASTECTOMY STORE TO DONATE BRAS AND BREAST FORMS TO WOMEN IN CAMBODIA AFFECTED BY BREAST CANCER
Contact: Jessica Murphy FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Compassionate Beauty, a local mastectomy store, wig salon, and oncology spa is gearing up for their Mastectomy Day, which will take place on June 14, 2012 from 10AM-8PM. Apart from offering new and returning clients gifts with purchase and special offers, they are proud to be collecting donations of mastectomy products to be donated to Cambodia.
Cambodia is one of the poorest nations in the world and has been experiencing a sharp increase in breast and cervical cancers. Presently, the first screening program in the country is being rolled-out for women in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. With the development of their screening program, more women will be diagnosed at lower stages of the disease, and will therefore be in need of a greater array of products and services for their course of treatment. As breast cancer treatment represents four times the average per capita annual income in Cambodia, the financial burden on those diagnosed is debilitating (World Bank 2006).
The Sihanouk Hospital Centre of Hope is a charity hospital in Phnom Penh, which provides the only breast cancer screening, diagnosis, education, training, and treatment services free-of-charge within the country. Compassionate Beauty has identified this establishment as a reputable centre, where mastectomy product donations will have a tremendous impact and will provide Cambodian women affected by the disease with some relief.
Compassionate Beauty invites all women who have old or used mastectomy products to please drop by our Mastectomy Day on June 14 between the hours of 10AM – 8PM. To book an appointment for a Mastectomy Day fitting, please call to set up a time. Compassionate Beauty is located at 22 Richard Way SW; Calgary, Alberta; T3E 7M9. Any inquiries and bookings can be accepted by phone at 403-686-6936.
